Teaching

In addition to her love for performing, Lisa is a passionate teacher that has taught students of all ages both privately and through music schools since 2001. At the University of Toronto, Lisa is a teaching assistant for the Piano Pedagogy Program and works with the Level 1 and 3 Children’s Group Classes.  Lisa has also worked as a teaching assistant for the undergraduate keyboard skills class. Further, her Masters research topics included the benefits of music study in early childhood years.

Lisa believes that a strong student to teacher relationship is important as the foundation for a stable and healthy learning environment.  Even though not all students who take piano lessons will end up pursuing a career in music, the center of Lisa’s teaching philosophy focuses upon being able to make a difference in her students lives by enriching them with all that music has to offer.  No matter what age, Lisa’s objective is to provide her students with an appreciation for all aspects of music.
